Hey Venture Church Network. I’m up at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin at a pastor’s gathering of our Midwest VCN region. It’s a beautiful spot, beautiful spot, wish you could be here. It’s beautiful to walk around the grounds of this conference center, but it’s also beautiful to watch the engagement and connecting that’s happening with pastors as they talk about life and talk about ministry. It reminds me of one of our core values and that is that we’re to be relationally committed to each other. We desperately need each other.
Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
And if there’s ever a time we need that encouragement from fellow brothers and sisters in who are in ministry together, now’s the time. In fact, here’s what I’d like to challenge you to do. When you’re done reading, would you pick up the phone, text someone, give them a call, write them an email, and just encourage them. Ask them how they’re doing, ask them what their highs are, what their lows are, what their struggles are, how you can pray for them. But take a few minutes to encourage another fellow pastor in your community, another VCN pastor or leader, and let them know that you are praying for them. That encouragement would mean so much, and we want to be that kind of network. I hope you’ll do that right now. Pick up the phone, give someone a text or a call, let them know that you are praying for them, engage with them, encourage them to love onto good news.
May God bless you as you continue to serve in the work of Christ.
