What an exciting time this summer as many of our regions are headed out on mission trips to serve different communities around the world. I was so encouraged to hear from Caleb Burb, Pastor at South Juniata Baptist Church, one of our Mid-Altantic Region Churches, and his recent trip to Honduras. I hope this encourages you as it does me.

Mission Trip to Honduras
A team from South Juniata Baptist Church (Honey Grove, PA) went to Helene, Honduras, in June to serve in a variety of ways. We did evangelism, Bible teaching and training, medical work, and served in a school. We also built two soccer goals, and kids ranging from 8 – 20 flocked to them every night to play and hear a Bible lesson. SJBC has been ministering in this area for five years (though two of our members have been involved there for much longer than that), and we are seeing the Lord do some exciting things now. For example, two of the discipleship groups we started have continued to meet since we left. One man has been committed to working with our field missionary, and the hope is that he develops into a leader on the island. We’ve also gotten word that the kids on the island continue to use the soccer goals daily, which we hope provides many more opportunities for them to hear the gospel. Finally, some of our own members have increased their efforts to share the gospel here in our community, as we did abroad that week.
